Ted Seifried

Ted Seifried has acted as Vice President and Chief Market Strategist at Zaner Ag Hedge for over 16 years, helping mid-sized and large grain and livestock producers protect their margins and hedge with confidence through a variety of market conditions.

Ted holds degrees in Economics and Sociology from Western Illinois University. He spent his breaks at the CME as a runner, where he learned about the futures business. After graduating, he started full time on the trading floor. He later expanded his expertise as an institutional broker at R.J. O’Brien and Associates and then as a speculative broker at Lind-Walcock. Ted joined Zaner Financial Services in 2009 to start the Zaner Ag Hedge group.

Since then, Ted has made his mark in the agricultural space, helping grow Zaner Ag Hedge and earning the trust of grain and livestock producers nationwide. He is a go-to source for some of the market’s leading media outlets, with regular features on Market to Market, RFDtv Market Day Report, Rural Radio 147’s Commodity Wrap, AgDay with Michelle Rook, CME Group Markets Commentary, and more. Ted has a strategic partnership with Channel Seeds where he routinely gives markets presentations for growers and writes a weekly markets newsletter for Channel’s Profit Planning Series. He is also known for his live market presentations, including multiple featured speaking engagements at Commodity Classic and Channel Fest.

But most of all, Ted enjoys working directly with farmers and producers to help them make informed decisions for the financial health of their operations.
